VW have a brand new cabriolet to launch in September! The launch campaign required Agence V and C4M to use augmented reality on their new app for Android and iPhone/iPad.

Each dealership has received a 3D marketing display and an iPad, with which potential customers and the inquisitive can take a realistic tour of the car before it hits the shop floor.

Furthermore, readers of ELLE and LePoint this week were invited to install the app, point their device at the featured ad in the magazines and enjoy the same experience - tour the car, open and close the soft-top, change the wheel alloys and the colour of the bodywork.

Basing their work on an Agence V concept and the Total Immersion augmented reality engine, C4M built a bespoke app from scratch: Storyboard, navigation, ergonomic study, augmented reality and containing app. One of the chief successes of the project as a whole is the 3D rendering and compression, enabling the best possible showcasing of the model's textures and form, maximising mobile device capacities.

Campaign deadlines meant that a product delivery record had to be broken: kick-off to submission in one and a half months.
