Release year: 2009
You may have been making mobile games for as long as you've worked, having your soft in a box in stores is different. C4M guesses that it relates to what movie actors say about being on stage :). And probably a last occasion for the platform, given the rate at which piracy is killing the DS.
Anyway, C4M was delighted when Mindscape approached the company to produce the second episode of Plus Belle La Vie for DS. They'd liked the first mobile title C4M had released early 2009, which at 5€ piece was better than the 40€ DS equivalent, or so fans of the show said. They'd heard C4M was working on the second mobile episode, and offered to buy the rights to that and budget C4M to improve the game and port it to DS. Ah, they said, you only have three months.
Three months for a first DS game, when all C4M had in terms of a second episode was the detailed synopsis? Impossible? C4M accepted on the spot. Rapid-M engine could be ported in parallel, while game play would be script coded in Rapid-M editor. It wasn't comfortable by any stretch, but same gameplay from the first episode would be reused ( 逆転裁判、ありがとう!thank you Phoenix Right), and well, C4M knew it was a one time chance to be in all french supermarkets.
The game is as good as C4M could make it in three months, meaning it's ok, but there were tons of things that the game designers wanted added. Rumors has it that it's selling well.C4M hopes it'll make a hardware return in 2010, maybe as DSiWare?
