In collaboration with Digitick, C4M has released one of the first French m-commerce applications. While C4M obviously cannot divulge numbers, the buyer to user ratio is high. It's as if mobile users feel re-assured by the native Apple environment.
C4M's m-commerce iPhone stack splits into three components; item selection, cart management and payment processing. Item selection is entirely handled in the native application code to benefit from product specific interfaces. The application asynchronously updates inventory. The cart itself is saved on the user account for a smooth transition between iphone and web shopping.
The payment itself, via credit cart or online payment, is done within an app webview. This brings a number of benefits: bank payment systems' natural support for the iphone browser, inherent security and compatibility of the browser over that of proprietary code, clear understanding by the user that he is in a 'traditional' payment space.
